Bailey Place Insurance, a leading Central New York full service independent insurance agency, will soon be opening a new office in Tompkins County. Operating today from its main office in Cortland and another in Dryden, the agency will open its third location in September at the intersection of North Triphammer Road and Craft Road in Lansing. The agency purchased the new building on North Triphammer in June and renovations are underway.
With more than 20 employees, Bailey Place Insurance is already one of the largest privately owned independent agencies in Central New York, representing most major insurance companies and providing comprehensive insurance and risk management services for families, businesses, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations across the region.
The new Lansing office will be fully staffed and will offer a complete range of insurance products. “The decision to open an office in Lansing was made to better serve our existing client base as well as to expand our reach into Tompkins County,” said Bailey Place President Stephen Franco. The agency has had a presence in Tompkins County since 1936 when George B. Bailey opened up the Bailey Agency out of his garage on Library Street in Dryden.
With roots tracing back into the late 1850's Bailey Place Insurance is one of the oldest insurance agencies in New York State and they represent many of the strongest insurance companies in America. Bailey Place Insurance was named the 2013 Small Business of the Year by the Cortland Area Chamber of Commerce. Current offices are located at 2 North Main St., Cortland, and 5 South St., Dryden.
