New York Health Coverage Outreach and Enrollment Summits: Looking Back, Looking Forward

Health advocacy groups, navigators, community groups, healthcare facilities, health plans, unions and small business representatives are all encouraged to attend the second series of regional health coverage Enrollment Summits that will bring together community leaders and stakeholders to prepare for the upcoming open enrollment season and review the first year of outreach and enrollment for NY State of Health. Over a million New Yorkers have already enrolled and we must continue this record of success next year!

The Summits will examine best practices and begin to develop regional coordinated plans for the next year of enrollment.  At the close of the first year of open enrollment, an estimated 9.5 million fewer US adults were without health insurance.  Most significantly, the rate of uninsured fell for young adults ages 19–34.  Over a million New Yorkers have already enrolled and are receiving free or low-cost health insurance.

This series of regional events brings together community leaders and stakeholders to review the first year (2013─2014) of outreach and enrollment for NY State of Health.
The summits will examine best practices and begin to develop regional coordinated plans for the second year of open enrollment (Nov 15, 2014 – Feb 15, 2015).
