SUMMARY:L.E.A.R.N: NYS Sexual Harassment Prevention in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Join the Tompkins Chamber as we present the New York State guidelines for sexual harassment prevention in the workplace. New York State law requires that employers provide a sexual harassment prevention policy and training on an annual basis to all employees\, volunteers\, and board members\, and encourages training of new employees as soon as possible\, noting that employers may be liable for the actions of employees immediately upon hire.\n\n\n\nThis 1.5 hour NYS Compliant Sexual Harassment Prevention Training will include:\n\n	An explanation of sexual harassment consistent with New York State guidance\;\n	Examples of unlawful sexual harassment\;\n	Information regarding federal/state law on sexual harassment and remedies available to victims\;\n	Information regarding employee rights of redress and available forums for adjudicating complaints\; and\n	Address supervisor conduct & responsibilities.\n\n The training will conclude with a Q&A for all attendees.\n\n\n\nPresented by:\n\nCarly Hansen\, Director of Operations and Human Resources\, Tompkins Chamber\n\n\n\n*Note: if you cannot make this meeting but would still like to attend this training\, or if you would like to schedule this training specifically for your staff group\, please contact Carly Hansen at chansen@tompkinschamber.org or 607-273-7080.
