DESCRIPTION:The Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response in partnership with NYVOAD and the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services\, invite you to the kickoff meeting of the Tompkins County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (TC COAD) on Tuesday\, July 15th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Tompkins County Public Library BorgWarner Community Room.\n\nCommunity Organizations Active in Disaster (COADs) are county-wide or multi-county coalitions that bring together government\, non-profit\, faith-based\, and private sector organizations to enhance disaster preparedness\, response\, and recovery efforts within our communities.\n\nCOADs provide a mechanism for cooperation\, communication\, coordination\, and collaboration amongst local organizations the "4Cs" essential for effective disaster response and community resilience. Chartered by New York VOAD and coordinated with County Emergency Managers\, COADs play a crucial role in enhancing our community's ability to respond to disasters and public health emergencies.\n\nYou have been identified as a potential COAD stakeholder.
