Dishwasher

Job Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Dishwasher to join our team at The Strand Cafe located inside the Canopy by Hilton Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment, sweeping and moping to ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly. You will also assist with other basic kitchen duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean dishes, glasses, utensils, cookware, and other kitchen tools following health and safety standards.
• Operate dishwashing machines and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper storage of clean dishes and utensils.
• Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Remove garbage and recycling as required, ensuring proper disposal.
• Help with the restocking of dishwashing chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Work in close collaboration with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that the kitchen is well-maintained.
• Ensure that all health and safety standards related to sanitation and cleanliness are consistently followed.
• Assist with any other tasks required by kitchen staff or management.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy items (up to 25 pounds).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of basic kitchen safety and sanitation standards is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, boxes, and cleaning supplies.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move quickly in a busy kitchen environment.
