Are you an experienced fundraiser and community-minded communicator with passion about the health of our senior neighbors? This is YOUR new role!
Foodnet Meals on Wheels seeks an energetic and experienced human to lead the agency’s community engagement and fundraising effort as Manager- Community Engagement and Philanthropy.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Plan, create and implement strategies to inspire awareness and access to Foodnet’s programming through successful marketing and community engagement activities.
  • Create and lead the philanthropic efforts for fundraising/development to ensure that resources are available to achieve our mission (including annual fund, major gifts, foundation and corporate giving, and planned giving.)
  • Assist in the development of grant applications and funding requests to foundations and corporations.
  • Establish and lead community public relations programming including successful website, social media, and other marketing efforts in support of Foodnet’s mission.
  • Take the lead in coordinating Foodnet’s fundraising events (Mac N Cheese Bowl) successfully with Board and community collaborators.  
 
Success will require:
  • Interest and drive to ensure positive outcomes in service of our local older adult neighbors.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of philanthropy in mission-driven, nonprofit, or social service organizations through annual fund, major and planned giving.
  • Successful leadership background that demonstrates strengths in communication, organization, vision, patience, and purpose. Postsecondary education/specialized certification is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to creatively lead, connect with and support a diverse group of passionate stakeholders (internal and external) through marketing, and community engagement.
  • A creative approach to meet principles and practices of marketing including web and social media  and success in conducting social media communications on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube.
  • Commitment and experience in human services or to serving vulnerable populations in Tompkins County, New York is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with various software programs (Microsoft Word Suite, Little Green Light, Canva are essential).
  • Possess a valid NYS Driver’s license and a clean driving record and ability to travel in and outside of Tompkins County.
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work format with remote and in-person work requirements depending on the daily needs of the role.
 
 
 
Manager- Community Engagement and Philanthropy Compensation Information:
  • Full time, Exempt

  • Salary: $58,500 annually.
