Event and Program Manager
The Tompkins Chamber is seeking a driven, highly motivated individual to manage its annual events schedule, volunteer engagement, and development of sponsor relationships. This integral role supports implementation of key components of the organization’s annual work program, with particular focus on member satisfaction, relationship development, and mutually beneficial stakeholder outcomes.
Responsibilities include cultivating annual sponsorship support and volunteer engagement, managing the Chamber’s monthly networking and annual events, planning and executing professional development/educational program offerings, and ensuring communications and marketing plans support the work described above alongside other team members.
Strong planning and organizing skills are required, as are excellent judgment, initiative and creativity. Qualifications include 4-year degree in sales/marketing, business, related field, and minimum 3 years’ experience in event management, business development, customer relations, or membership relations. Strong community relations skills and ability to work with and motivate volunteers and interns are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
