Pay Transparency Presentation and Workshop

In collaboration with SHRM, the Tompkins Chamber is co-hosting a presentation regarding pay transparency on September 20th. Chamber members are encouraged to attend this workshop to better understand the recent City of Ithaca legislation requiring pay transparency for jobs advertised within the City of Ithaca market, as well as best practices around publishing compensation levels of posted positions.

The legislation requires minimum and maximum hourly pay or salary ranges to be listed when companies solicit job applications for open positions, though temporary jobs and companies with four or less employees are exempt from the requirement. The law also requires employers to post these pay ranges when they offer a promotion or transfer opportunity to their employees.

The program will begin at 8:30 am meeting starts with welcome and introductions. There will be a pay transparency presentation by Michael Sciotti from Barclay Damon. Following the presentation, there will be a panel discussion. Speakers are still be confirmed and details will be updated here.
