Event Description:
Are You Ready For A Feasibility Study? Panel Discussion with Q&A

One question entrepreneurs often struggle with is how to accurately plan for the physical spaces their business may need. Whether you’re renovating existing spaces or building new ones, capital investment in facilities is a huge portion of start-up costs and determining how you will grow over time. Answering these big questions on your own with inconsistent construction cost data and a complex and confusing regulatory environment can be a recipe for disaster.

A feasibility study is a low-cost option to evaluate your business’s space needs and layout all the requirements for the growth to come. Designed with agriculinary tourism partners in mind, this event will include a presentation from each panelist in their area of expertise followed by a moderated Q&A open to questions from the audience.
  • Local architecture and construction firm Trade Design Build will provide an outline of a feasibility study utilizing a case study to illustrate the process.
Panelists: Gideon Stone, CEO and Michael Barnoski, CFO
  • Seneca-lake brewery Lucky Hare Brewing Company will share their experience undergoing a feasibility study, encompassing the hurdles & problems they encountered and the value it provided.
    Panelist: Richard Thiel, Owner
  • Tompkins Trust Company will discuss the financial value of a feasibility study, explain necessary financial considerations, and touch on available funding sources.
    Panelist: Jason Moore
Following the panel will be an opportunity for attendees to connect directly with the panelists to ask for specific advise. Representatives from TCAD, the Tompkins Chamber, and Tompkins County will be in attendance to answer questions about local programs and incentives.
