Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse

New York state law requires many licensed professionals to complete a two-hour training course regarding the identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment.

• Define and identify physical and behavioral indications of suspected child abuse and maltreatment
• Identify characteristics of abusive and neglectful parents/caretakers
• Know when to report suspected abuse/maltreatment; know the statutory reporting requirements involved, the protections afforded reporters, and  the liabilities for failure to report
