The program, also performed in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre on Thursday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 16 at 8 p.m. features internationally renowned Japanese guest conductor Junichi Hirokami. The RPO?s own Principal Oboe Erik Behr (The Dr. Jacques M. Lipson Chair) takes center stage for Richard Strauss?s virtuosic Oboe Concerto. The program also includes Hindemith?s Concert Music for Strings and Brass, and Rachmaninoff?s ravishingly beautiful Symphony No. 2, a masterwork of late Romantic music.
