Tompkins Connect Public Speaking Workshop for Young Professionals Presented by the Kitchen Theatre

Public Speaking is a top fear of many Americans, but we are here to help! The Tompkins Connect Public Speaking Workshop, taught by Rebecca Bradshaw, who is the Kitchen Theatre’s Producing Artistic Director, will teach young professionals how to prepare and deliver effective presentations confidently and professionally. She will teach you the same techniques that actors learn about being personable and professional during a presentation. Additionally, Rebecca will talk about how to prepare your body ahead of a presentation and give techniques on breathing, eye contact, memorization, and more! There will be opportunities for questions during the workshop.

About the Presenter:
Rebecca Bradshaw (she/her) has built her career in Boston as a theatre director, producer, educator, casting director, acting coach, and advocate. She has directed full theatrical productions for Huntington Theatre Company, Lyric Stage, The Nora Theatre Company, SpeakEasy Stage, Greater Boston Stage Company, A.R.T. Institute, Emerson College, Bridge Rep of Boston, Central Square Theatre/MIT, The Umbrella Center for the Arts, among others. Bradshaw is leaving her position as the Associate Producer of the Huntington Theatre Company, where she handled line producing, casting, and developing new work. She is a part of the Affiliated Faculty of Emerson College teaching directing and producing, and has taught casting seminars at Harvard University, Suffolk University, Boston University, Brandeis University, Lesley University, and Boston Conservatory. She has been a private acting coach for the last six years prepping actors for auditions and their career. She is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers union.
