Tompkins Trust Company Small Biz, Think BIG Series - Demystifying Integrated Marketing

Understand the Many Meanings of Marketing and Learn How to Implement Your Own Strategy

Join fellow businesspeople in a lively, interactive seminar on Tuesday, May 13th from 8:30 AM to noon at the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce office.

Marketing and communications specialists Eiron Smith and Brett Powell of Howell Liberatore & Associates will present an interactive workshop focused on understanding the principles behind integrated marketing and applying them to your marketing strategy.  Questions, comments and real-world case studies will be encouraged as the group discusses what marketing is and is not, how to develop a marketing strategy and how to apply that strategy as a small, mid-sized, or even large business.
Participants will leave the workshop with answers to these questions, and more:

  • Do you have a long-term strategy for your marketing efforts?

  • Should you have a marketing or advertising budget?  If so, how much?

  • What does integrated marketing mean, and how does it related to branding?

  • Are you taking advantage of free tools such as social media, PR and Google?

The program is sponsored by the Tompkins Trust Company and the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, and takes place at the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, 904 E. Shore Drive, Ithaca, NY. 607-273-7080. The fee is $25 for Chamber Members; $40 for non-members. Register by phone or at http://www.tompkinschamber.org. About the presenters:
Eiron Smith
President
Previously working on the client side of advertising and communications for over ten years, Eiron has hands-on experience with media and public relations, sports marketing and promotions, event management and corporate/HR communications. Sometimes feeling more like the chief conductor of a finely tuned ensemble, than president of the 71+ year-old agency, she is proud of the team in place and their ability to produce amazing results for each client. She is an avid lover of Keuka Lake, Mini-Coopers, and coffee, and is also a proud mother of two young children, that have taught her the importance of traveling with gum (and a light saber).

Brett Powell, M.S.
Director of Client Services & Business Development
Brett joined the HLA team after eight years of experience in the professional sports and live entertainment industries.  Always the marketing alchemist, Brett mixes his statistical and behavioral knowledge and business experience with the limitless options available in the advertising and communications industry.  Career highlights include earning his master’s degree, brokering Phish’s Super Ball IX, growing events at Watkins Glen International, joining the Corning Area Chamber of Commerce and Five Rivers, BSA board of directors, and building a diverse network of partners. He enjoys motivating staff, thinking big, embracing technology, being creative, teaching at Corning Community College, drumming in his band Not From Wisconsin, and being outdoors as an Eagle Scout in his native Finger Lakes region.
