Tompkins Trust Company Small Biz, Think BIG Series - Using Public Relations Tactics to Make the Most of Your Limited Marketing Dollars

Simple secrets you should know to keep your business in the hearts and minds of your target audience.
 
Join us in a lively, interactive seminar on Wednesday, November 13th from 8:30 AM to noon.  
 
Register for this program now to better understand how to effectively use public relations strategies to market your business with little or no cost.  Hear Maggie Barnes, a public relations expert, share her 20 years of expertise dealing with the good, the bad and the very ugly in managing business communications and reputations!
 
This session will help business owners and managers:
 
  • Understand the basics of effective public relations and sound communication strategies, including real-life case studies of what works and what doesn’t.
  • Learn how to identify themes of clear, consistent, creative expressions of your brand, focusing on the most important elements underlying integrated marketing communications.
  • Develop methods of dealing with negative press associated with service recovery issues, and how to respond to negative media attention, web-based in particular. 
The program is sponsored by the Tompkins Trust Company and the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, and takes place at Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, 904 E. About the presenter:
Maggie Barnes has been a member of the upstate NY professional business community for 23 years, including serving as a reporter, a marketing officer, a spokesperson, writer, and university lecturer.  She has truly dealt with the good, the bad and the very ugly when it comes to media relations and crisis communications.  A graduate of Medaille College in her native Buffalo, NY, Maggie works full time in marketing for the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA and frequently teaches and lectures throughout the Twin Tiers.  She also supports local communities in her role as a FEMA-trained Public Information Officer during emergency incidents.
