Salary: $23.39/hour - $28.07/hour (2025 rate)
Position Description: The work involves responsibility for the operation of a variety of light motor equipment, machinery and tools on public works projects including the construction, maintenance and/or repair of municipal streets, bridges, parks and grounds, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems and solid waste disposal. The incumbent also transports construction equipment and machinery to and from work sites. The incumbent also performs other activities connected with the work, including pre-shift inspections of trucks, routine lubrication and maintenance of equipment, and manual labor. The incumbent performs recurring manual duties related to the operation of the equipment and other duties as assigned when not operating equipment. The position is distinguished from that of Heavy Equipment Operator by the size, weight and complexity of the equipment operated. The work is performed under general supervision. Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid New York State Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) or a valid Commercial Driver License equivalent to a New York State Class B Commercial Driver License at the time of appointment and maintenance of said license for the duration of employment.
Residency Requirements: There are no residency requirements for this position.
